A Dream Realised
Tony Scuderi, a native Sicilian, has always dreamt of sharing the rich culture and exquisite flavours of his homeland with the world. After 25 years of hard work and dedication, his vision has finally materialised into the warm and welcoming space of Vulcano Etna. As Tony says, opening this restaurant was “like having a baby,” a testament to his commitment and the culmination of years of sacrifice and perseverance. Since opening our doors, we’ve been embraced by the Colchester community, reflecting our desire to create a positive impact through authentic Sicilian cuisine and genuine hospitality.

Authentic Sicilian Cuisine
Our menu is a reflection of Sicily’s diverse culinary landscape, shaped by influences from North Africa and Greece. We pride ourselves on offering authentic dishes, from street food-inspired Arancini—savory fried rice balls with various fillings—to classic desserts like tiramisu. A highlight on our menu is the Fiat 500 Abarth, symbolising the quintessential Italian flair. Every dish served at Vulcano Etna is freshly prepared using the finest Sicilian produce, ensuring an authentic and unforgettable dining experience.

A Family-Run Establishment
Vulcano Etna is more than a restaurant; it’s a family affair. Founded by Alina Pana and Tony Scuderi in partnership with Simone Pattavina and dedicated team, we embody the true spirit of Sicilian hospitality. Our goal is to make every guest feel like part of our extended family, offering a warm, welcoming environment that mirrors the communal culture of Sicily.

The Venue
Housed in a Grade II listed building, Vulcano Etna combines historical charm with modern Sicilian aesthetics. The Scheregate Steps location is not just a backdrop for our restaurant; it’s a symbol of Colchester’s rich history and cultural diversity, providing the perfect setting for our Sicilian culinary adventure.
