Our Story

O The Story of nce upon a time, on the sunny slopes of Mount Etna, a boy with a big appetite and even bigger dreams decided that one day he would open a place of his own, a little corner of his homeland Sicily where people could eat, laugh and feel alive. That boy was me, Tony, and after a lifetime of travelling, learning, and tasting everything the world had to offer, the dream finally came true in October 2023 here in Colchester. From day one, I wanted Vulcano Etna to be more than a restaurant. Not a place where people “feel like home” because at home you wash the dishes and argue over the wine! Here, I want you to feel like you're on holiday in Italy where the wine never ends, the laughter is loud and every plate comes with a story (and possibly a little drama). Almost all of our ingredients come straight from Italy, personally chosen and taste-tested by me. It’s serious work especially when it involves twenty cheeses and ten bottle of wine... purely for research, of course. But what truly makes this place special is not just the food or the music, it’s the people. Together with my wife Alina the heart, soul, and yes, the real boss of our small but amazing team, who are not just a team, but truly our family now, we work every day to bring you a slice of Sicily served with passion, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos We want you to leave with a full belly, a warm heart, and a story to tell because thats what Sicilian hospitality is all about.
